Nurlan Nigmatul visited Abai’s birthplace  

Today, the Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan during his working trip to East Kazakhstan region visited Semey city 

Nurlan Nigmatulin visited Zhidebai-Borili, the state historical, cultural and literary memorial reserve-museum of Abai in Semey, where he got acquainted with valuable exhibits and materials of the museum. He also got acquainted with scientific works published in honor of the 175th anniversary of the Great Poet. This year the region plans to conduct more than 500 events dedicated to the anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev.

Also, the Chairman of the Mazhilis viewed the exposition of the halls “Abai’s Age”, “Creative Environment of Abai” and “Konenіn kozі”, he was told about valuable exhibits. In one of the halls of the museum, one could see a photo of Abay with his sons Akylbai and Turagul, taken in 1896. The exhibition even has vehicles of that time.

Currently, the museum funds have more than 21,000 exhibits, including 12,337 exhibits of the main fund. The museum consists of 5 monuments of history and culture of republican importance and 10 monuments of local importance.

At the end of the tour, the Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament thanked the museum staff for their hard work and wished them further success in their work.

By the way, it is no coincidence that Semey was chosen the first city to visit. On the Eve of the 175th anniversary of Abai, the Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament decided to get acquainted more closely with the homeland of the Great Poet and capture the spirit of his work. Earlier, Nurlan Nigmatulin took up the poetic challenge in honor of the 175th anniversary of Abai from the national artist Bibigul Tulegenova and performed the poem "Zhurek - teniz, kyzyktyn bari - asyl tas".

In addition, Nurlan Nigmatulin got acquainted with the work of the hybrid operating room of Semey Emergency Hospital. There he held a meeting with health workers. It is worth noting that the hospital was built according to the state program "100 schools, 100 hospitals" and is meant for 345 beds. Including 195 beds have a therapeutic profile and 150 beds have a surgical profile.

Also, the Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament visited in Semey the Multidisciplinary Cultural and Sports Complex. It was solemnly opened on the eve of Independence Day. Sports and cultural events of an international level will be held in this diversified cultural and sports complex of a modern type with a unique architectural structure for 5,000 seats.
