New tourism facilities to be built on the amazing beaches of Lake Alakol

This was announced by Akim of East Kazakhstan region Danial Akhmetov at the meeting with the regional active members to discuss the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In order to ensure investment attractiveness, a promising investment site of 60 ha has been determined on the lake coast, land plots of which will be allocated for the construction of new tourist facilities through the contest "Best Project for the Construction of a 3, 4-Star Hotel". Investors will be provided with state support measures.

Danial Akhmetov instructed Tourism Administration together with Akim of Urjar district to ensure the planned work on the implementation of projects of seven large infrastructure projects worth KZT28 billion. Including, for the construction of water supply and sanitation system, power transmission lines, shore protection, reconstruction of the runway of Urjar Airport and drainage of the new coastal zone of Lake Alakol.

In order to develop medical tourism from Barlyk-Arasan settlement to the shores of Lake Alakol, a special water pipe-line will be built to transport healing water, which will ensure receiving guests at any time of the year.

Along with this, it is planned to develop eco-tourism and health tourism in Katon-Karagai district, ski tourism in Altai district. This year, the construction of a health-improving complex - Altai resort has begun on the basis of Katon-Karagai district hospital, where, along with traditional wellness services, patients will receive treatment based on ancient folk technologies. In this regard, Danial Akhmetov instructed the regional Administrations of Tourism, Natural Resources, Healthcare to develop a plan for the eco-and ethnic tourism development in the region.
