For 5 years, East Kazakhstan region is going to plant 1.5 million trees

East Kazakhstan region will adopt a comprehensive plan to improve the environment in the region. Experts and the public are involved in the development of the plan.

By 2021, large enterprises are planning to expand and introduce the latest technologies in order to reduce pollutant emissions.

The head of the region noted that the total volume of pollutant emissions in the region amounted to 129,000 tons, and over the past 6 years has decreased by 11,000 tons. Emissions in Ust-Kamenogorsk decreased by 7,000 tons. Large industrial enterprises invested KZT27.2 billion in the environmental measures.

Akim of East Kazakhstan region Danial Akhmetov spoke about the improvement and gardening of courtyards, parks, squares, recreation areas.

Let’s note that work is currently underway on settlement gardening in order to improve the environment. This year, 133,000 trees have already been planted, and in October, a program will be adopted for the integrated planting of trees in the settlements of the region, within which 1.5 million seedlings will be planted during 5 years.
