Prospects for further development of the resort potential of the coastal zone of Alakol Lake were discussed by entrepreneurs and interested public agencies

Recall that landscaping the coast of Alakol Lake has been held since 2016. During this time, the recreation area has considerably been expanded. Currently, 333 business facilities are providing tourist services, including 175 are holiday homes, two hotels, 29 shops and 56 kiosks, 10 cafes, four bars, two restaurants, eight canteens and one cookery, two pharmacies, and even a water park.

According to the head of the region, next year it is planned to begin the implementation of several large infrastructure projects in order to increase the level of comfort for holidaymakers. However, Danial Akhmetov drew attention to the fact that representatives of small and medium-sized businesses must fulfill their obligations and not avoid paying taxes.

Yerzhan Ktanov, Deputy Head of Public Revenue Department of East-Kazakhstan region, said that in just 11 days of July, thanks to the checks, 38 entrepreneurs were taken out of the “shadow”, 11 recreation centers were registered.

- In 2018, the district budget ensured the receipt of taxes from business entities in the amount of KZT67.5 million. This year, the amount of tax revenues is expected to be KZT100 million, which is 148 percent more than last year. However, there are still facts when owners of recreation centers give incorrect information about their incomes and, accordingly, avoid paying full taxes. We carry out trips and notify about the installation of accounting online cash registers, - said Yerzhan Ktanov.

A special working group has been established to improve the coast of Alakol Lake. Akim of Urjar district Serik Zainuldin noted it is planned to implement projects in the amount of KZT 30 billion.

The first thing the contractors will undertake is the shore protection of the recreational zone of the coast by setting up breakwaters with sea breakers parallel to the coast, 100-150 meters from the coastline. Also within the framework of the project it is planned to strengthen about two kilometers of the coast. The project will be implemented according to the experience of the construction of MorPort Aktau. In addition, it is planned to build water supply networks and water intake facilities, as well as sewage networks, wastewater treatment plants and filtration fields. Design estimate documentation of projects has already been submitted to the state examination.

In order to ensure stable transmission of electricity, an electric power line with a capacity of 110 kW will be built from Makanchi to Koktal.

Work has already been completed on the development of design and estimate documentation for the reconstruction of the airport runway in Urjar settlement. The project provides the landing of aircraft on the lane from two courses, an increase in the lane to 2,100 meters in length and up to 45 meters in width, installation of lighting equipment for high-intensity lights, construction of a new terminal with a capacity of 70 passengers per hour, redevelopment of the administrative premises of the existing terminal. After that, the airport will be able to take narrow-bodied aircraft with up to 70-80 seats.

- For two years we have invested so much in the development of the coast. In the next four years, we will invest even more so that not only domestic, but also foreign tourists come here, and rest comfortably, the head of the region emphasized. - Soon we will study the Austrian experience in the transportation of medicinal water through the water pipe-line in order to build a year-round medical and health complex. Today there is one problem - the road in the direction of Ust-Kamenogorsk - Kalabatau - Semey - Ayagoz. But within two years the repair will be completed. From Kabanbai village to Alakol Lake there will be a bicycle track with a total length of 2.6 km. Entrepreneurs are provided with all necessary government support, so representatives of SMEs must pay taxes on the basis of justice and law. In addition, pay special attention to ensure that all fire safety conditions and sanitary regulations are met at the facilities.
